How can developers develop a design eye in real life?
A simple yet effective way is to browse through as many e-commerce websites as you can.
In the last three years, I gradually have a clear feeling of what is good design, especially in the UI field. It all started when I dived into developing headless e-commerce websites. (If you have no idea what is headless website, literally speaking, it is head less, actually, it is bodyless. It separates the front-end presentation layer from the CMS on the back end which empowers you with the most possibility to develop a website. ) Personally speaking, I think it is fascinating to develop a headless e-commerce website. The bonus is that you craft a very well-designed eye for your application.
I ponder this question a little bit and think the reason behind it is that e-commerce websites are all about selling. It is pretty tough to sell items on a last 80s-styled website. That being said, you, as a developer, require you to make this website engaging for the customers.
