I want to pick up the habit of writing in 2021. This is one of the goals that I set for this year. 

Something about parenthood

My son turns two years old this Saturday. He starts showing some interest in playing with puzzles. I prepare him with different difficulty levels of puzzles. One very interesting thing catches my eyes. When he is presented with the puzzle which sits in his comfort zone, he can play with it for more than 10 minutes, while if it is a little bit challenging, he starts showing the symptoms of looking around, fidgeting, sometimes even feeling grumpy and tossing away the puzzle. 

But once he can overcome it a little bit and put together a couple of pieces, he will resume showing interest. 

It reminds me of writing code. If I pick up a project which sits in my comfort zone, I would like to sit there and code for a couple of hours. If the project makes me feel a little bit uncomfortable, I feel distracted and can not focus on the project itself. But you always need to pic…
